Things that make you go hmm.... (in a frustrated way)

I am Tam06-13-2003, 02:52 PMI posted this in response to another post.. but I thought I'd share the story here to give some background...
****I had a green discharge for about 3 years (guessing). I'll add a little note here that each time I went back to the clinic with the problem I would wait many months between visits.
I had been tested for STD's (which was rather unlikely). I was put on doxycylene twice - the first time for 5 days the second time for 10 days. I was put on metranodizole (sp?) twice because it was thought to be caused by trichomoniasis. (I did research on the net - it was the only thing for this symptom and I had to tell THEM to check for it. Then they tell me that's what it is!?) Obviously, it can't be trich because it wasn't cured! They were gonna put me on it a third time!! I just never picked up the prescription.
I finally asked about financial services at another clinic (I have no insurance) and saw a real ob/gyn (all the times I went to the other clinic they were ARNP's!). The result??? My Pap came back abnormal - mild dysplasia. So... then I had a colposcopy done - biopsy put me at moderate/severe dysplasia. Went in for the LEEP last Thursday (June 5). I got a call today from the doc's office on the results of the biopsy of the LEEP. Severe dysplasia. All this has happened since April 25th when I went in for my first appt. with the ob/gyn.
How can I be severe and the abnormalities were not picked up on previous pap smears at the other clinic?? (Both clinics use the same lab. The first clinic is in the hospital building and the second one is across the street from the hospital.) ****

Ok, so now I'm wondering "what the hell?" because....
1. After I had been "diagnosed" for trich and taken the meds the second time my guy went and got tested. It was negative. Hence, obviously there was no trich which would explain why I wasn't "cured"! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/mad.gif

2. As I mentioned in my story above, why wasn't the dysplasia found sooner?? Especially when....

3. The ARNP said there was a lot of white blood cells - well white blood cells are a little clue don't you think?? They fight infection and invasion. I believe there's an increase in WBC when cancer is present(well, in this case it's precancer cells).

4. Why the hell were they gonna put me on metranodizole a third time?? Are they stupid?? Did they really think the third time's a charm??

I'm thinking I got some real shoddy "work" over at the first clinic.

Ok, I do have a funny story though. On one of my visits at the first clinic I was all undressed waiting for the ARNP to come in and the fire alarm went off! I had to get dressed and go outside with everyone!
