exactly where in the pelvic area are your ovaries?

SOUTHERN DIVA05-31-2003, 08:32 PMPlease don't laugh at me, I am not as dumb as I sound. I am just worried about a lump I have found in my very low pelvic area,it is on the left side about 2 inches from the groin in the pubic area.I am absolutely terrified that the 2cmsmall cysts" they saw on an ultrasound has turned into "something bad".I just saw my gyno about 4 weeks ago and he said everything felt normal. My husband, who knows I worry about everything says my ovaries are not "way down their" anyway. Is he right,I am worried half to death.winged phantom05-31-2003, 08:46 PMdiva,
If you look at a picture of the internal female genitalia, you can see that the normal positioning of the ovary is way above the pubic bone. That's not to say they always stay there, because severe adhesions can move them to odd places...that would be one scenario.

I just can't picture exactly what you may be feeling. Did I remember right that you said you could only feel it while standing up? So how hard are you pressing? And are you pressing it up against something inside? The big question is... do you have any of the other symptoms for ovarian cancer? Check out the "resource links" HB has provided in the blue band above the threads, among them www.ovariancancer.org. (http://www.ovariancancer.org.)
wrjoym52501-23-2004, 04:19 PMDid you ever find out what was wrong? I have the same problem with the painful lump in my groin two weeks before my period. I had an US of the groin yesterday and the tech siad she saw two sacs filled with fluid? I have had everything checked by my gyn.
