radioactive seeds-problem urinating
jwarder05-25-2005, 05:19 PMHi- My husband had the r. seeds implanted about 4 years ago. They told him several are too close to his urethra and have caused a stricture. They keep having to go in and unplug this stricture every few months as he had difficulity urinating. Has anyone else had or heard of this problem and if so what did you do for it? Thanks so much.positive4u05-28-2005, 01:08 AMjwarder-Did this happen gradually or all of a sudden?

Ask your urologist if there is a long term solution to this. If not satisfied, seek another opinion. Removal of the prostate(prostatectomy) after radiation is a tricky procedure but has been done. It must be done by someone who is very experienced. This would get rid of the stricture area but is the last solution most doctors would consider.
