Having another mole removed.

kittygoesrawr12-08-2003, 01:19 PMHi guys. Hope everyone is doing well. :] I had melanoma 3 years ago when I was 16. It was 1.5mm deep and Clark's level 1 I do believe. I can't really remember seeing as to how I've tried to put it out of my mind as much as possible. I'm about to go back in to the doctor today to have another one removed. My question is this...let's say you have stage 1 melanoma -- Will it not look as bad if you were to have stage 3?? I mean..would your mole be pretty ugly if it were stage 3 versus something like stage 1 or 2??

Please reply. I'm very paranoid about having this one removed. Yuck.Saraly12-09-2003, 08:17 AMAre you having a mole removed because it's suspocious or because you have already had the biopsy and know it's melanoma? Some things look perfectly innocent and they're not and others look horrible and they're not.Cheery12-10-2003, 11:46 AMI had a really large, dark and rugged crusty mole removed a few months ago.

It was so ugly and fitted all the desciptions of melanoma. I got the results back and they were clear.

It just goes to show that it doesn't make a hell of a lot of difference as to what they look like.

Good luck and keep us informed of what happens.

Hi, I am a newcomer here. So hoepfully this goes into the right spot. I had a melanoma 18 years ago. It was a level 4. Pretty deep. My mole was small, but different colors on my back. I had to have some follow up, such as a series of shots. Immunization. I am doing fine. but have had more moles removed, but all were okay. I would advise anyone that has a suspicious looking mole, to have it checked, or even get checked if they are not. It sure saves a lot of worry to have them removed before they turn to malignancy. Really a scary thing to go through.Saraly01-01-2004, 08:47 AMHi, I am a newcomer here. So hoepfully this goes into the right spot. I had a melanoma 18 years ago. It was a level 4. Pretty deep. You were very lucky to have been cured of such a late stage MM. You must have had great doctors!
