lump on dads shoulder
shysanny04-30-2003, 03:40 PMhi, this is my first time posting here but i just found out that my dad may have thyroid cancer, he had shoulder surgery about a year ago and now has a lump on it i have been looking up info on thyroid cancer and cant find nothing about lumps anywhere but on neck. you see my dad is real self centered and will do anything for attention and to try and get my mom back and i mean anything. and so i dont know what to think he really does have a small lump on his shoulder for i have felt it. and i know the doc did draw out stuff from it and test it but i just dont know if it really is cancer or if it is just one of his games again. i have been on computer all day trying to find something about a lump on shoulder and cant. if anyone has anything please let me know. thank you.

I know sometimes people get lumps in places that turn out to only be calcium deposits, non cancerous polyps or cycyts, or just something that's been there for a while and just became noticible. If your dad says the biopsy showed cancerous cells you should take it seriously though. I don't know your family or your dad, but I don't know anyone who would lie about a sometimes deadly disease to get attention or to win someone's sympathy. I've heard of people being concerned they may have cancer as I am one of those people...Keep me postedshysanny05-02-2003, 03:47 PMhe didnt say he just said that they found thyroid cancer and from what i have read on it they take tests out of your neck and they didnt with him, i want to think my dad wouldnt lie about something like this but trust me you never know what he'll do to get his way. my sis is going to the dr with him on monday to find out the truth so i guess i will wait till then to find out. thanks for your reply.
