LEEP for Adenocarsinoma In Situ?

jjgo607-09-2004, 02:03 PMHi all,

I need help! I had a Laser Cone in May and results came back possitive. GYN Oncologist suggested another Cone, but I requested for Hysterectomy - scheduled July 19th. However, I changed my mind yesterday at my Pre-operation appointment with the Doctor. I just feel uncomfortable getting the Hyst done at age 28.

OK. The Doctor suggested a LEEP. Does this sound right? I thought LEEP is mostly for CIN! I have Adenocarsinoma In Situ...

Thank you! Any feedback is appreciated.

KimMEL198007-09-2004, 05:15 PMDoctors can do a LEEP cone procedure for dysplasia in the canal. My impression has been that LEEP can be used at any stage before invasive cancer.
