Question about chemo experience
Taft03-27-2005, 12:56 PMMy good friend was just told he has acute leukemia and was whisked into the hospital, had a shunt/catheter inserted for chemo, and is pretty stunned by what is going on. So am I!
My question to those who have been through this, or something similar is, What can I give him to help divert his attention from some of this. I was thinking of some kind of mp3 player, or game thing. What did you have, or wish you had to take your mind off things while you were going through this?
Thanks so much!Taft03-28-2005, 11:35 PMThanks Patti,
Actually he is 49, but I'm still planning on bringing Mad magazine. Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn't sure if he'd be feeling too lousy to focus on movies or not.

I think that the laptop as Patti said is good! especially of he could make an internet connection! he could then chat with his friends! particularly when he stays in the sterile room! its i think a very boring and tiring period! you can also play with him by sending sms or mms! or to call him often! a ****** is also certainly helpful! you can share good moments each one in his place!
Good luck Taft! and don't loose faith!cardshark04-26-2005, 01:33 PMI agree the computer is a good idea; however, some hospitals are no longer allowing you to use any form a computer because it can interfere with their system. So you might want to check to make sure they allow lap tops before you bring one.
